What is the School Council? |
The School Council is not dissimilar to an advisory committee in a corporation. While the decision-making in the school is almost entirely in the hands of the Principal and Staff Executive, the School Council is a body of parents, staff and community members, that seeks to:
- understand school operational and educational policies and plans;
- contribute to and discuss the ongoing development of such policies and plans; and
- explain and endorse such policies and plans within the school and wider community.
The key focus area of the School Council is in policy development and to that end we are constantly working through the various school policies (for example bullying and classroom discipline; and Support Teacher Learning Assistance) to ensure that they reflect the needs of the children and school community as whole. Membership - Evan Predavec (President, parent)
- Bruce Tulloch (parent)
- Sara Lucas (parent)
- Nadine Folley (President P&C)
- Shay Giblin (teacher)
- Anthony Simone (teacher)
- Jan Sinclair (teacher)
- Jan Scott (Deputy Principal)
- Pam Crawley (Principal)
The School Council meets on the second Wednesday of each month. The meetings are not open but feel free to raise any matter you would like to have put on the agenda with any of the Council members.
